Precipitation... of the frozen kind
Ryan and I have been in Colorado, not quite two and a half months. We've lamented over the fact that we work (and travel) too much and therefore, have not gotten to really enjoy all the beauty around us. Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL fall day. Bright blue skies, sun shining, a high of 75- it really couldn't have been better. I went out running and couldn't get over the amazing colors on the trees and in the sky.
Apparently, that is the last day we'll see like that for quite awhile. Before we went to bed, the rain began. We fell asleep to the wind and rain pounding our windows. But when I awoke this morning and went out to make myself some tea, I caught a glimpse of white out the window. I quickly ran over to move the blinds and sure enough there was a fantastic white covering on the grass, trees, cars, and roofs surrounding us, with still more coming down.
It's the first snow of the year here in Denver, and the first one of our life here together. I ran back to tell Ryan about the beauty that was outdoors for us to see. He promptly told me that he "had seen snow before" and rolled over as a signal that I should LEAVE. I did, but only so I could make myself some hot chocolate, take some pictures, and enjoy the simple gifts of life.
Many of you, who know me well, might be laughing that I would get this excited for the snow, when I am the queen of being cold. It's true, if this continues by next week I may be cursing our move from the "Eternal Spring" climate of Guatemala to the mile high freezing city of Denver. But as for now, sitting with a cup of cocoa in my hand and a blanket on my shoulders, I am completely content.

The parking lot of our apartment building, from our balcony.

Close up, Ryan's car.

Excited for our first Colorado snowfall.
