Pike's Peak

My mom and Megan's vacation started with a weekend trip to Colorado Springs.  My mom had always wanted to visit the Focus on the Family campus, so we started there.  We then took in the amazing views of Seven Falls and ate dinner at the world famous Golden Bee.  On Sunday we took the COG Railway up to the top of Pike's Peak.

While Sarah and I were at school during the week, the visitors took in the Butterfly Pavilion and the Celestial Seasonings plant in Boulder.  Plans for more site-seeing at the end of the week were derailed when Megan injured her foot while stomping around after a bad decision by Charlie Weis against Navy.  I had to calm her down.

We had a great visit!  We especially enjoyed having them visit our school on Halloween.  Also, thanks for all the wonderful meals we came home to!  Start making plans for another trip.  And we hope others who have talked about a visit to beautiful Colorado follow your example and make good on the promise! (let's step up to the plate Schneid/Deb, Perzee, Drew, Richie, GOC/Marcia, JB, Ryan/Erin, etc... 3 feet of powder awaits.)

Playing in the "kids only" area.

A Dobson sighting.

The bottom of the falls.

The view of all 7.

On the train up Pike's Peak.

Arriving at the top.  Sarah and I hope to make the old-fashioned ascent next summer.

A little chilly up here.
