Best Christmas gift!
December 21, 2007 was an eventful day in the family. After a looooong time waiting (I've been waiting over 5 years), Kati and Paul had their first child at Presbytarian St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, CO. Kati's water broke about 2:15 am Friday morning and they set off for the hospital. Around 8:30 am the doctor realized that the the "head" she had been feeling at the bottom was actually the baby's behind and they made the quick decision to perform a C-section. Six minutes after the first cut was made the new mom and dad were holding their baby. Mom and baby were doing great but there was one surprise....
At 26 weeks, when Kati and Paul had the ultrasound done the doctor was 99% sure that they would be having a girl. In the following weeks, all friends and family went with this assumption and began purchasing lots and lots of cute and cuddly baby stuff in the color pink. Well, as it turns out, the biggest surprise of the day was that the baby was NOT a girl but instead a bouncing baby boy.
While he did not receive a name for several hours (do to parental deliberation) he was equiped with ten fingers, ten toes, a beautiful head of dark hair, and dark blue eyes like his papa. Before the end of the day it was announced that this bundle of joy was named Wyatt George Rothgery. George is the name of great-grandfathers on both sides of the family.
We couldn't be happier for Kati and Paul and can't wait to spend as much time as possible with our first nephew. Welcome to the world Wyatt! If you need anything just let your Tia Sarah and Tio Ryan know!!!

Wyatt George Rothgery- 8 lbs. 3 oz. and 20.75 inches

A proud Mama and Papa hold their new bundle of joy.

Wyatt already loves his aunt and uncle. Look how peaceful he is!

I've been waiting a long time for this....it was definitely worth the wait....
