Chicago vs. Denver - The Rubber Match

Since moving to Denver, Sarah and I have tried to support our hometown teams when they come to town.  Plus, when Chicago arrives in the Mile-High City, it gives us a good excuse to catch a game.  Upon our arrival in August, we watched the Cubs crush the Rockies 10-2.  At the time, the Rocks looked like anything but a World Series team!  Little did we know.

In November, the Nuggets got revenge against the Bulls in a big way.  Even though we are not big hockey fans, we went to see the Blackhawks pay a visit to the Avalanche on Friday night.  It was Sarah's first hockey experience, and she enjoyed an exciting game while wearing her winter coat and using mine as a blanket.  The Blackhawks pulled out the 2-1 victory in thrilling fashion - needing a shoot-out after overtime to decide the contest.  (A special thanks to Chet and Carolyn for the tickets!)  So Chi-town took the rubber match, and I can retain bragging rights with a certain group of fourth graders.

And don't forget, the Broncos lost to the Bears in Chicago thanks to the inexplicable decision to kick to Devin Hester... if you're scoring at home.

The Pepsi Center clears out after a 2-1 Blackhawks victory.

We, the above name cubs and former cubs, do hereby declare without equivocation, that we will not only take it to the rockies both a mile high and on the northside, but we will win the WORLD SERIES! Yes, with all the off season dedication all the je nais se qua' (can you say samargia or even spell it) are going to take it to the house. goats and such don't scare us as they frankly have nothing to do with us as people or ball players. It is a fiction that the fine people of chicagoland have let haunt them. But, we through spiritual development and rational thinking are not scared. FEAR the CUBS in 08.
