The Ice-Men Cometh!

While packing for Colorado last August, my sister Megan hung around waiting to see what didn't make the cut.  "How about this Notre Dame hockey jersey?"  Um, yeah, you can have it; I'm sure I'll never need that.

Oops.

With ND's big upset of #1 Michigan tonight in the Frozen Four semis, the ticket I landed to Saturday's National Championship game here in Denver just got a tad more valuable.  With the Irish set to battle their Catholic rival Boston College for the Title, any chance the Pope will move up his trip to the States by a few days to catch the game?

I'm not going to pretend to be a big hockey fan all of a sudden, although, I did tell Sarah during tonight's game that hockey's not too bad when you actually really care who wins.  Even though it wasn't football, there was something about seeing those crashing helmets of shiny gold and ugly maize and blue - just stirs a little something inside, you know?

Anyway, I don't care what the sport - it's Notre Dame in the National Championship... in my backyard.  Did you really think I would not be in attendance?  Now, the question is... what to wear?  Without an Irish hockey jersey, I might still be able to scrounge up some gold and blue.

Or perhaps some green will do...

GO IRISH, BEAT EAGLES!
