A Hoosier Wedding

Congratulations to Sarah's cousin Emily and her new husband Tim!  Last weekend we traveled to our second "Bloomington" wedding of the fall.  While the last one was my sister's in Illinois, this one was in Indiana.

We traveled to the "oosier" state (as Chet likes to call it) on Halloween with Kati, Paul, and their frequent flyer 10-month old.  It was my first trip to Indiana University and you couldn't have asked for better weather.  The changing leaves provided a gorgeous setting for a grace-soaked wedding.

The bride's late grandfather always promised a ride on her wedding day.
What a great moment!

In our Sunday best...                                                                 only to be outdone by this dude.

I'm sure these IU and BC grads strategically planned the festivities to give us a chance to watch the Notre Dame game in between the wedding and reception.  However, the game went into overtime (4 of them), so we had to rely on play-by-play from my sister and brother-in-law via text messaging.  Chet reminisced about the old days of huddling around the transistor, while we now sat on the edge of our seats waiting for a cell phone to light up.  Unfortunately the fun memory was tarnished by a painful outcome.  Nonetheless, the party went on.

The happy couple.

On Sunday we had some time to kill, and Chet wisely suggested our best Indy option.  We visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, and even took a lap (albeit much slower than usual) around the legendary track.
