In case you missed this...
The University of Notre Dame has decided to add another recipient to its list of those receiving a prestigious Honorary Degree from the world's most prominent Catholic University this May.
In addition to the previously announced awards, the University will posthumously confer an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration to... Judas Iscariot.
In defense of this decision, University President Rev. John Jenkins released the following statement...
"We will honor Judas as an inspiring leader who faces many challenges - an oppressive Roman Empire, the economy, the struggle for military power, and Moses Law reform - and is addressing them with intelligence, courage, and honesty. Of course, this does not mean that we support all of his positions. This award should not be taken as condoning or endorsing his positions on specific issues regarding the public betrayal of Jesus Christ. Yet, we see his visit as a basis for further positive engagement despite his impassioned expression of his unwillingness to dialogue. It should be noted that Judas carried out his primary mission with a loving embrace and even a kiss. We will carry out our mission with the same dignity."
