The Golden Arches

After our time in the Bay named after a holy little man in a brown robe, we headed back to Colorado, but not before a fun stop in Utah.  We first made a quick stop in Salt Lake City and checked out Temple Square.   A special thanks goes to Sarah's friend Molly and the Claflin family for their generous hospitality.

Then we headed to Moab, Utah.  We spent 2 days playing in the jungle gym known as Arches National Park.  We'd heard good things about Arches, but it was even better.  Of course, we saw only a fraction of the over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, but they were spectacular!  We hiked the Devils Garden Primitive Loop, which included a lot of bouldering and scrambling on slickrock surfaces alongside steep narrow ledges - my favorite type of hiking.

Arches isn't one of the most well-known National Parks, but it should be.  Only 5 1/2 hours from Denver, I'm sure we'll be back.  Here are a few photos.  See the full album here.
