Would you like to have a real discussion about this or one laced with rhetoric and errors? Do you honestly think that people aren't already getting denied treatments by their own insurance companies? Also, do you not realize healthcare is essentially already socialized? Who do you think is paying for the people who use the ER as their primary care who have no insurance? I am, you are. We are spending $10,000 dollars a day on homeless drug addicts in my city who fight infections from the drugs they are injecting into their bodies. Government sponsored health insurance for those people would be disasterous, you're right. How dare we treat everyone like human beings by giving them the right to health care.

Or how about father who was layed off a week before he was diagnosed with cancer. He is now dying and has to worry about his family's impending bankruptcy because no insurance company would cover him because of his "pre-existing condition." What do you call that? A well-run health care system? I don't, I know for a fact he doesn't.

Why don't you pull your head out of your conservative [EXPLETIVE REMOVED], talk to doctors and social workers who actually work in the system, and then form an opinion. People like you are what is wrong with this country.

      JR,

Yes, I would indeed like to have a "real" discussion about this with truth at the forefront.  However, it appears (based on your tone) that neither you nor our president are up for this type of discussion.  It's hard to figure out how you came to the conclusion that I think insurance companies aren't currently denying coverage or that certain aspects of our heath care system aren't already "socialized."  When did I say that?

I respectfully request that you re-watch this video, because I think you missed the point.  This video readily recognizes that our health care system has some problems.  I agree with you in that we need to do something about the "pre-existing conditions" issues and that human dignity would be better served by a stronger safety net for all citizens, including the drug addicts you mention.

I am all for genuine health care reform; however, a plan that kicks wide open the euthanasia door and places mandated coverage for murdering innocent children at its centerpiece is not worthy of a country that calls itself civilized.

You sarcastically ask, "How dare we treat everyone like human beings by giving them the right to health care?".  If you believe Obamacare accomplishes this, then apparently your personal scope of whom qualifies to be called a "human being" is much closer to that of Hitler's than John Paul the Great's.  The unborn... the elderly...  the disabled?  Where does it stop?

True reform will move us closer to respecting the dignity of all human beings - from conception until natural death.  Obamacare is going miles and miles in the wrong direction.
