6 months of FUN!

It is hard to believe, but John Paul is already 6 months old. While there have been (many) days and nights that have drug on for what seems like an eternity, I'm still in shock that this much time has gone by.  We've established a good routine and there is nothing better than getting a smile or giggle out of our little man.

A couple of months ago, Ryan and I went to a conference to hear Scott and Kimberly Hahn speak.  While there, JP was pretty easy to entertain, slept most of the day, ate a little and sat on our laps.  We observed a baby several months older than him sitting up, reaching for things, giggling and interacting with people around her.  Ryan commented that it was hard to imagine our John Paul doing that stuff.  Well, in the past month it has gotten much easier to imagine.

In December, JP began rolling over (back to belly) and sitting up on his own.  In January, he has perfected these things and I'm pretty sure crawling is in our not too distant future.  It is crazy to look back at the little tiny bundle we brought home in July (see video to refresh your memory) and compare it to the "big boy" we have now.  It's amazing as a parent to see the incredible changes your child goes through, especially during the infant stages where these changes are happening at such a rapid pace.  Sidenote: This new mobility has added an extra element of difficulty to the diaper changing.  John Paul thinks he should lay on his belly on the changing table.  It gets interesting, that's for sure!

Our little man had his official six months check up and here are his current stats:

Length: 27 1/2 inches
Weight: 15 lbs. 9 oz.
Head Circumference: 17.25 inches

John Paul DEFINITELY has his father's metabolism and eating prowess.  The boy can put food away.  He eats solids 3 times a day and loves every minute of it.  To date, the only food that has not received immediate accolades is avocado but I think we may have caught him at a bad time.  Ryan says he just wants a little salt, pepper, and lime to make it better!

Check out some recent photos to see how much he's grown!

It's funny to turn over before Mama can get me dressed!

Ready for baseball season!                                                           First sled ride!
