And...We're Off!

The last couple of days have been exciting at the O'Connor household.  Not only is today JP's 7 month birthday (photo shoot pictures below) but as of this past week he is officially MOBILE!

Ryan and I have been watching him spin himself in circles the past couple of weeks to get to whatever toy he so desires, but in the past week I noticed him pulling himself around differently.  Then, on Wednesday while babysitting John Paul decided that there was a balloon he just had to have.  He chased it around for hours (okay it was probably more like 5-7 minutes but I imagine it felt like hours to him).  It wasn't until Saturday that Ryan got to witness this new development (he didn't believe me until then) and finally today we got a good video of him on the move.  He is pretty discriminatory in terms of what exactly he will exert effort for.  Mom and Dad do not rate.  Technology (of any sort) does!

He's not too fast yet but I'm sure it is only a matter of time before we are unable to keep up.  Since the last post (about JP) he has also broken two teeth.  Fortunately, they didn't seem to bother him a bit and I would say he hadn't even noticed them except for when we give him his puffs to practice feeding himself he sometimes chews with them and makes a funny face.

Here are the most recent photos of our munchkin:

Happy at 7 months!

I'll take that camera! (Look at those teeth!!)

Latest Bathroom Trick: SPLASHING!!!

Most recent family photo- pretty good considering we used the timer!

Finally, here is the video of our mover and shaker.  *I would like to note we are not teasing our child by moving the object of his desire, we're simply fostering his skills by furthering his practice.*

His look up at dad when you first move it (16 seconds) is classic!

    "Why?"

You are torturing poor John Paul! This reminds me of one of my professors (die-hard Cubs fan) saying that he wanted to tie his boys' right arms to their sides in order to make them southpaws, but his wife wouldn't allow it. The whole family looks great! Hope you're all doing well.
