Whatever Control I had....

IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, when I made this comment to my mother she said that I was assuming I ever had control.  Either way, it no longer exists in my life.

John Paul turned 9 months today and he continues to bring great joy and laughter to our lives.  He has developed the ability to crawl, stand, pull, climb, walk anywhere and everywhere he desires.  We are constantly pulling him away from the "no-no" areas, only to repeat the process 30 seconds later.  It can definitely be frustrating, but then he looks up at us with what we have named his Jack-O-Lantern grin and you can't help but smile.  He squints his eyes, wrinkles his nose, and shows you those two bottom teeth, all a parent's heart can do is melt!

We seem to be going through a changing period right now.  Obviously with a small baby like him every week seems to be a changing period.  Nevertheless we are working on a few things right now.  Swaddling is over, this has gone very well actually, much to my surprise.  Putting ourselves to sleep, as opposed to being rocked to sleep and then set down, not quite as successful but we'll keep trying.  Feeding ourselves food besides puffs is hit or miss.  Puffs are delicious and he chows them by the handful, other foods not so much.  He seems to be a little wary of the way things feel in his hands.  He will eat an entire banana no problem if I feed it to him.  However, when I put tiny pieces on his tray with puffs he picks up only the puffs and makes a funny face when he touches the banana.  Apparently they feel slimy and he doesn't like that!  We'll keep working on it!

Here are some of the latest photos of our baby boy, let us know if you do not get snapfish albums and would like to:

JP with his friend Gemma.  These two met in-utero when their parents met
at the hospital birth class.  They have sure changed a lot!!!

Grandpa O'Connor came to visit.  Nice bed head JP!

Practicing our walking skills with Carly's walker.

Foiling Mama's plan to keep him away from the lamp, cord, and bookcase.
