Camping at 10 months

We just finished a big weekend at the O'Connor house.  Actually, we didn't spend any of the weekend at our house, we were at Great Sand Dunes National Park, in southern Colorado, camping with my (Sarah's) whole family.

My brother-in-law, Paul, is a outdoorsman through and through.  He loves everything about the outside from running to adventure racing to camping, and he even works for the National Park Service.  While the rest of us are not "natural-born" campers, we agreed to go for a weekend of outdoor fun.  Ryan and I went to the dunes with Kati, Paul and Wyatt two years ago.  This time we had two more babies, and our parents with us.  Needless to say, it was quite interesting.

The weather did not exactly cooperate for us and we struggled to keep ourselves warm for a lot of the trip.  We did end up having a lot of fun, cooking, roasting marshmallows, playing games (even inside our tents) together.  Paul and Wyatt made it to the top of the dunes (quite impressive!) battling really strong winds and blowing sands for most of the trek.  John Paul had a good time.  He tried and loved kiwi, and got TOTALLY dirty.

You can check out the pictures below for some evidence of our fun.

Daddy and JP snuggling on a cold camping morning.

Wyatt was our tree climbing monkey, banana and all!

Mama's with their babies, some more excited than others for the dunes!

This is what happens when you are getting teeth and have a runny nose,
but love crawling in the dirt and go a little too fast, making you face plant!
He was okay, and it was too funny not to take a picture!

The day we left for our trip was also JP's 10 month photo shoot.  It really is getting ridiculous trying to keep him in one place for these.  Here's the best shot that I got.  It is the first picture I took.  If you want to see the madness that ensued after this picture check out our latest snapfish album (let us know if you didn't get it and would like to).  Good thing we only have two more months to go! (I'm stopping at the 1 year mark).

I should've stopped after the first shot, the rest are a disaster!
