Zoo Day
For Christmas we got a family pass to the zoo. Then, John Paul was a little young for the zoo but I went a couple times with kids I was babysitting or just because it is nice for ME to walk around and enjoy the outdoors/animals. Today is the first time that I've gone where I think that JP actually enjoyed being there.

Life is good!
My friend Rebecca, her daughters Hannah and Felicity, met JP and me at the zoo. I realized when we pulled up that we maybe should've waited a week because there were TONS of buses and cars pulling in. Lots of schools have their last week this week so there were lots of field trips to contend with. It ended up being fine and actually I think watching all the people may have been John Paul's favorite part of riding in his stroller, or at least high on the list.
Topping the list of fun things was seeing the giraffes. It is hard to direct his attention to a particular spot, especially when he doesn't understand most things that I say. (Sidenote: he does understand the word "NO." To him it means that Mama is being really funny and he should laugh and grin and do whatever it is that I said no to again!) However, at the zoo today one of the baby giraffes was pretty close to the fence and JP caught a glance and LOVED it! He laughed and giggled and tried to pull himself out of his seat to go get that big guy! It was hilarious. I had to wonder if it is because he has a stuffed giraffe that is DEFINITELY his favorite stuffed animal and if you hold it in front of his face he will grab it around the neck and slam it into his mouth like he is kissing it!
Here are some photos that I took (some are just animals we saw).
Giraffes are funny!

I also thought I'd include the photo of what JP was doing while I wrote this blog. This is his laundry basket that I took out his room so I could do his laundry. He pulled 2/3 of the content of the basket out and with each reach, pull, throw motion there was a "wwwhhaaa-uuhhh" to match!

Im glad JP had a good time. He is growing up so fast and he looks so cute!
