Happy All Hallows Eve!

As we prepare for two great Feasts, All Saints Day and All Souls Day, you can see our small attempt to reclaim the great Christian celebration of Hallow'een.  JP doesn't quite get it yet, so look for much more in the future!

All Saints Day (Nov. 1):  We venerate our heroes - all the saints in heaven.  We know they are cheering us on (See Heb. 12:1) and praying for us (See Rev. 5:8, 8:3-4).  This year we especially honor the patrons of our family - St. John, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Blessed John Paul II, the two potential patrons of Baby #2 (you know who you are!), and of course Our Mother, Our Queen Mary (See Rev. 12:1).

All Souls Day (Nov. 2):  We also remember the souls in purgatory (See 1Cor. 3:15), as we know they need our prayers (See 2Mac. 12:44-46).  We pray for our relatives who have gone before us, especially our grandparents Chester, Marie, and Russell.  If they have not done so already, may they join the marriage supper of the lamb (See Rev. 19:9).
